This blog is a work in progress. It is aimed at women who have been or who are in a controlling, manipulative or abusive relationship. It is also a place for me to vent my own personal frustrations & battles against abuse and the depression and anxiety that it has caused me. It is my intention to share information & inspiration with those who so desperately need it.
It'd be great to add other peoples stories, comments and survival tips to this blog. Send your emails to stones-n-sticks@hotmail.com

Effective & powerful, this chilling exposure of the psychology behind emotionally abusive relationships is an invaluable resource. Written in two perspectives it outlines manipulation at it's finest. This book helped me make sense of where I went wrong and what to avoid in a partner in the future.
*** Men Who Hate Women & The Women Who Love Them Susan Forward, Ph.D. & Joan Torres
The truths in this book often hit home really hard and it can be at times, hard to hear. This book gave me some strength to pull myself up and to begin my healing process. It gave me a better understanding and put into words the way i was feeling.
*** Women Who Love Too Much Robin Norwood
The theory is that "loving too much" or being addicted to relationships that cause you pain, is a disease. Robin demonstrates this through a series of compelling case studies of women who love too much and repeat the unhappy patterns of childhood in relationships. This book takes a hard look at unhealthy & powerfully addictive relationships as well as a program for recovery.
